Who We Are

The Capital Area Institute for Mathematics and Science (CAIMS) serves as a dynamic resource center for inquiry-based P-16 science and mathematics education.

• Mathematics and science education programs for teachers, supervisors, and administrators through Mathematics and Science Leadership Academies
• Special topic workshops delivered on the Penn State Harrisburg campus, at Intermediate Units, and in individual school districts.
• Assistance to teachers and administrators in the development of P-12 standards-based curricula
• An extensive collection of curriculum materials and resources
• Nationally-validated, research-based instructional modules for use in hands-on, inquiry-based science classrooms
